GANGNEUNG OJUK HANOK VILLAGE Introduction
All houses in Gangneung Ojuk Hanok Village are made with traditional Korean methods, so you can feel the beauty of Korea, and traditional hanok and modern convenience facilities are combined to make families, friends, office workers, and lovers feel comfortable like home.

Since the hanok was designed to have a natural rather than an arbitrary form, it is designed to match the environmental elements of the surroundings, so the house is built in a place that does not spoil the features of the surrounding landscape.
The line of a tiled roof resembles the shape of a mountain ridge. The line of the tile expresses the line of a cord stretched naturally while holding both ends. The eaves are composed of hurim and joro and sag in the middle of the ridge.
Gangneung Ojuk Hanok Village has made the most of the Hanok’s characteristics as much as possible to create a natural space. Although the design is lacking in ornamentation, it shows simplicity and innocence by making full use of the merits of the material, and the view of the bamboo planted throughout the town can calm your mind and body by looking at it.
In addition, the Yulgok Educational Hall is opened to connect the Hanok villages of Ojukheon, famous for being the birthplace of Yulgok Yi I, the representative scholar of the Joseon Dynasty, and Gangneung, to spread the spirit of Yulgok’s ideas. Through the various traditional cultural experiences, it will be the medium introducing the excellence and tradition of Hanok to people from all around the world.
We will preserve the wisdom of the life of our ancestors and become a representative cultural space of Gangneung that connects the past and the present.
